BIO

My name is David Cassilo (Ph.D., Kent State University), and I am a scholar and media researcher. Much of my time is spent at Kennesaw State University, where I am an assistant professor in communication. In the classroom, I teach undergraduate courses in media and communication. Additionally, I help plan and coordinate media training sessions and guest speaker events on campus.

My award-winning research focuses on digital and social media and has been featured in nationally recognized academic journals and conferences. That research includes analysis of media framing, social media trends and digital streaming patterns. Furthermore, my research has investigated communication of physical and mental health in sport as well as athlete activism.

Prior to my career in academia, I worked as a digital journalist. In my role as a beat reporter at Cleveland.com, I would promote content across social media platforms, use data analytics to increase my content's reach, shoot and edit video, create written stories in a content management system, record and edit podcasts, and take and edit pictures. My work has also been featured in USA Today, Men's Health magazine, Popular Science magazine, SLAM magazine and Bleacher Report.

Thank you for visiting my website, and I look forward to hearing from you!
